Why is PTE a good choice for nursing registration in Australia?

The PTE exam is a great choice for nursing registration in Australia. Here are some main reasons:

PTE is widely recognized in the Australian healthcare sector

PTE result is accepted by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).

AHPRA is in partnership with the National Boards of Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Dental, Medical, Medical Radiation Practice, Nursing and Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Osteopathy, Paramedicine, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology.

You can apply for one of these Boards using your PTE score. Besides, you can work for many other healthcare facilities in Australia.

PTE is easier than other tests

While the PTE exam is entirely conducted and scored on a computer, you will take a comprehensive English proficiency test, similar to paper-based IELTS.

Many students now prefer PTE over IELTS as it is convenient, objective, and easy to score.

Furthermore, the PTE exam content covers daily English communication, much easier than the OET exam with heavy medical-related content.

The PTE fee is affordable

PTE fees are much less expensive than OET exams. That’s why the PTE exam is the right choice for anyone on a tight budget.

Moreover, PTE also offers many vouchers to book the exam at the best price.

You can receive your quick PTE results within five business days of the exam date.

The PTE test is an ideal option if you need a certificate urgently to complete your nursing registration.

What are the minimum required PTE scores?

The nursing and healthcare industries have a vital connection to human health and life. Thus, Australia sets very demanding and strict requirements for international students looking to study and work in this field.

Nurses need to brush up on their expertise and English language ability to ensure that they understand the needs and desires of their patients.

The PTE score requirement for nursing registration is 65 points or higher overall in all four PTE sections, including Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening.

You can retake the PTE exam as many times as you want if you did not earn the target score on the first attempt.

Additionally, you can combine two PTE exam results for nursing registration.

For example, suppose you achieved 65 points or above overall and in all sections except the Reading part on your first test. On your second try, you got 65 points higher in Reading but worse in other sections.

In this case, you can use both results for your nursing registration.

Can PTE scores be used for nursing practices in the US?

The answer is YES.

Nurses are in high demand worldwide. In 2021, the United States has an estimated three million international medical employees.

The United States broadens the language requirements for overseas students seeking to become registered nurses.

PTE exam is now accepted for nursing licensure purposes by a rising number of State Boards of Nursing in the USA, including Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas.

PTE has recently been added to the list of approved English Language testing services for foreign healthcare professionals by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Accordingly, you must earn a minimum PTE score of 55 points with no section below 50 to work as a registered nurse and other B.S. level healthcare workers.

HRSA has boosted the sought-after nursing profession with a new testing option for nurses wishing to further their careers in the United States.

You can take the PTE test for nursing registration in the United States as one of seven identified non-physician medical professions, including registered nurses, licensed practical or vocational nurses, and clinical and medical technicians.
