What Does The PTE Score Report Contain?

When you receive the PTE Academic test report, you will notice two key sections. The report covers various aspects of English proficiency, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It helps you understand your English language skills for academic or immigration purposes. The overall score is based on the Global Scale of English, which standardizes proficiency measurement.

The first section is your overall score, which ranges from 10 to 90. The second section provides a breakdown of your scores for communicative skills—speaking, writing, reading, and listening.

Overall and Communication Skills Scores

Your overall English ability is reported on the scale from 10 to 90. Pronunciation is an important factor in the evaluation of your speaking skills. In the report, scores are also awarded on the four critical language skills: Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening.

Skills Profile (formerly called “Enabling Skills”)

This section reveals how you performed on various language proficiencies. You are the only one who gets to view it and is provided to allow you to determine where you may want to enhance. It is not released to institutions or schools.

The following eight skill-categories are included:

  • Open Response Speaking and Writing
  • Reproducing Spoken and Written Language
  • Extended Writing
  • Short Writing
  • Extended Speaking
  • Short Speaking
  • Multiple-Skills Comprehension
  • Single-Skill Comprehension

These two sections together reveal to you an outline of where you currently stand and where you need to head to improve at English to do well on future tests or to apply.

Accessing Your PTE Score Report

Timeline for Score Availability

After you take your PTE test, Pearson sends an email notification to inform you when your Score Report is ready to be viewed.

The majority of examinees receive their score within 2 business days but may take up to 5 business days.

Viewing and Downloading the Report

When you receive the email, log on to the myPTE website with the same username and password you did to sign up.

After logging in, proceed to the homepage to view your score. From your homepage, click the “View Score” button to see your result. The score report will show up on the screen, showing your overall score, details about your communication skills, and other information.

You also can download or print a PDF copy of the report directly from the portal. This is to retain on the record or share with institutions.

Securely Sharing Your PTE Academic Score Report

Important Sharing Guidelines

When you share your PTE Academic score report, the key is to maintain security, integrity, and ease of access.

  • Your report is digital and official. We will not usually accept paper copies or PDFs as valid proof of your results.
  • You can share the results freely with countless institutions without any extra cost.
  • When you share, you can either submit your score directly through the portal myPTE or provide your proprietary Score Report Code (SRC). You can allow institutions to check your result by using this code.
  • Make sure the receiving institution is also included on the myPTE system (if you’re using the portal) or can accept the SRC verification website.
  • Once you submit it, the university will see the proper version of your report on the Score Report Site, not just a screenshot or picture that you submit.

Sharing via the myPTE Online Portal

  • Login to myPTE. This is the same login with which you signed up and took/scheduled the test.
  • Go to the “My Activity” or “Scores” page and choose the test result that you’d like to share.
  • Click “Share results” and look for the school you want to share with. You might be able to choose more than one school at a time.
  • Verify your selection and approve sharing. Then the Institution will be able to view your outcome on the Score Report Site.
  • You will usually be sent an acknowledgment email to let you know that your mark has been sent.

Sharing via Score Report Code

Alternatively, if you wish to do so or the organization employs the verification system to replace direct assignment, you can submit the unique Score Report Code (SRC) of yours.

  • On your report you’ll see an alphanumeric 10-character (or so) long code – that is your SRC.
  • Give the SRC (and sometimes your Test Registration ID) to the school. They will be able to see your score on the Score Report Site.
  • This method ensures the institution is receiving official, tamper-proof information and not the copy you might transfer. This keeps things secure and genuine.

Sharing Specific PTE Test Scores (Immigration/Government)

PTE Core (Canada Immigration)

PTE Core tests everyday English skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening) in the shorter format, rather than academic English that other tests test.

The document is accepted for any type of economic visas to Canada, including skilled immigration and permanent residency.

When you submit your Canadian immigration score, ensure that you select the proper test (PTE Core and not PTE Academic). Also ensure that your result is still valid by the rules of IRCC (typically an eventual 2-year validity from the date of the test but check once you apply).

PTE Academic UKVI (UK Home Office)

For UK candidates who need to prove proficiency in English to obtain UK visas or immigrate, the PTE Academic UKVI is the authorized version by the British Home Office.

The test format is like the regular PTE Academic, which has four skills: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. It also has extra security checks, like a Unique Reference Number (URN) for visa applications.

Aspirants can determine if the visa route is the four-skill UKVI version or the two-skill test (like the PTE Home which is all about speaking and listening).

When reporting your PTE score to a UK visa center or school, make sure to report the result from the UKVI-accredited test center and the test enrollment number is what they need.

PTE for DHA (Australia) and INZ (New Zealand)

or immigrating to or studying in Australia and New Zealand, the governments accept PTE Academic (center-based).

The Australian Department of Home Affairs also recognizes PTE Academic to approve visas and migration. PTE Academic (or other tests) is listed among the accepted English tests.

In New Zealand, Immigration New Zealand (INZ) recognizes PTE Academic for selected visas and school admission. Make sure you use the right center-based version and that your result meets the visa subclass requirements, like minimum scores and how long it is valid.

For Australian visas, check if the test has been undertaken prior to or after some date (e.g. changes on 7th August 2025) because the validity of tests and required scores can be different.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

When accessing and sharing your PTE score report, it’s important to avoid some common pitfalls that can delay or complicate the process. First, always ensure you log in to your myPTE account correctly to access your score report without issues. Pay close attention to your email notifications so you don’t miss the alert that your score report is ready.

Double-check your test registration ID and personal details to prevent any discrepancies that could affect your results or their acceptance by institutions. When sharing your score report, use the correct score report code and follow the official procedures to ensure your results are received securely and verified properly.

Additionally, take time to review the test format and understand the criteria for achieving a good PTE score typically, a score of 65 to 90 is considered strong for most academic and professional purposes. By staying attentive to these details, you can ensure a smooth and successful experience with your PTE score report.

FAQs

What can I do if I do not receive my PTE score in 5 days?

If your results have not arrived after five business days then you should check your spam or junk mail folder while verifying that you have logged into the correct myPTE account. If it’s still missing, then inform Pearson PTE Support, giving the day of the test, the registration ID and your details so that they can investigate the issue.

How do I get a hard copy (printed) PTE score report?

Pearson provides digital score reports which institutions verify through the official Score Report Website but you need to download and save your PDF files from your myPTE accounts. Most organisations require that official systems handle score delivery because they do not accept screenshots of printed documents.

Is it possible to edit my personal details in the PTE score report?

Your score report personal details cannot be corrected by you after the test; in the case of an error (e.g., name or passport number), report Pearson PTE Support immediately and send official ID documents for correction. The organization will review the request to determine its feasibility and identify the necessary documentation for implementation.

Conclusion

Your PTE Score Report is not just a number, it’s the unlock to worldwide opportunities. The process of viewing results and downloading them and sharing them safely allows you to progress toward your educational goals and professional ambitions and migration targets.

Here are some tips: Always access your score report through the official PTE portal, double-check recipient details before sharing, and review each section of your report to better understand your strengths and areas for improvement.
