What Types Of PTE Can You Take In Singapore?

Like in other countries, you can take PTE Home and PTE Academic in Singapore.

PTE Home

As the name suggests, PTE Home is reserved for those who want to apply for citizenship, including work and family visas. The UK Home Office considers it valid proof of test-takers’ English proficiency.

Therefore, this test is a great choice if you want to settle in other countries outside of Singapore. The schedule is available all year round and flexible, allowing you to book a test one day in advance. You will receive the result within two days after the test date.

PTE Academic

This is the most popular type of PTE for both workers and students. PTE Academic is a computer-based, AI-scored test that accurately assesses your English level.

It is a widely accepted certification for immigration purposes and international education in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and more. There is a specialized PTE type named PTE Academic UKVI, which is suitable for Singaporeans who want to study, work, or live in the UK.

What Are PTE Fees In Singapore?

  1. Registration fee: You have to pay about 300 SGD to book most PTE exams in Singapore. However, the PTE Home test only costs 250 SGD.
  2. Cancellation fee: Any cancellation from 14 days before the designated test date qualifies for a 100% refund. If you request a cancellation within 13 to 7 days before the test date, you can get 50% of the registration fee back. There will be no refunds if you cancel the test less than 7 days before the examination.
  3. Rescheduling fee: You will not be charged any fee if you reschedule the exam at least 14 days in advance. Those rescheduling their test at least 7 days beforehand will have to pay 50% of the registration fee. Rescheduling the exam in less than 7 days equals booking a new test, so you need to pay a 100% fee.
