About PTE Core Booking

The PTE Core booking is 100% online, so you don’t need to reach the nearest test center to submit the required documents—all are Internet-based!

You must meet the required documents for the PTE Core test to book the exam successfully. This test is only accessible to participants over 16 years old. If you are from 16 to 18, parental consent, with your guardian’s signature, is needed.

You can book consecutive tests. Yet, remember that each exam has a 5-day gap. After booking, you can instantly check the PTE Core exam’s date and location on the official website.

PTE Core Online Booking Process

Step 1: Click On “Book A Test”

First, visit the Pearson PTE official website and click “Book a test.” Then, you must answer 2 compulsory questions:

  • Where do you want to go?
  • What do you want to do there?

Since you want to take the PTE Core test, you likely want to move to Canada. So, choose Canada as the location for the first question.

For the second question, select Work, Settle, or Join Family. It’s because PTE Core is only available for these purposes. If you pick Study, Pearson will suggest you take the PTE Academic test instead.

Once finished, click on “Check availability & Book.”

Step 2: Find An Appointment At A Test Center

You must type in your desired location to sit the exam at this step. It isn’t necessarily Canada, but you can take the PTE Core test in your home country.

After that, you will receive a list of available centers. Scroll down the list, and click on the location where you want to take the exam.

Next, select a date and time of the day. Remember to choose the time and date at least 24 hours in advance. Then, click on the “Book” button.

To save your choice and continue your booking process, you must log into your myPTE account. If you haven’t had one yet, create one by following the concise instructions in the third step.

Step 3: Create Your MyPTE Account

Click on the “Sign in” button and provide your credentials, including your last name, first name, identification number, etc.

You should provide the identification number on your passport as an ID. Remember that the provided number must match your passport. Otherwise, you won’t be allowed to take the test and are not eligible for a refund.

You can provide the numbers on your citizen identification card or other documents if you don’t have a passport.

Once you complete your details, click “Create an Account & Continue Booking.”

Step 4: Complete Your Booking

At this step, you must read PTE Core policies, such as admission, cancellation, rescheduling, etc., before approving them.

Then, you need to pay the test’s registration fee. You can pay with Discover, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.

To ensure a smooth payment process, you’d better connect your local bank to international cards, such as Mastercard, Paypal, etc., beforehand.

Finally, the website will present your personal information, appointment, and payment details. Double-check them, especially your ID, before choosing “Submit Order.” Your test details will also be sent to your email.

What’s The Required Documentation For Your Booking?

Here are some requirements you need to pay attention to:

  • A valid identification number that matches your current passport or other identification documents.
  • Apart from ID, your spelling name (first and last name) must be identical to the given name on your passport.
  • Your photo should also look the same as your current appearance.
  • The ID’s issue must be valid and should not exceed 10 years.
  • Any copies of your passport or other identification documents are invalid, making you ineligible to take the PTE Core test.

Sometimes, you accidentally infringe on the identification policy without knowing. In this case, below are helpful tips and warnings to help facilitate your booking.

  • If your passport is not available due to your visa application processing, you must get back and bring it along on the exam day.
  • If your ID number is valid, while the photo is not identical to your current appearance (due to plastic surgery or a younger version), you might not be able to take the PTE Core test.
  • If you discover that the ID name differs from your registered name, you can change it at least 3 working days before the exam.
  • Please carefully check the list of PTE exceptions. If your document is included in the list, it will not be accepted.

Can You Book The PTE Core Exam Offline?

As presented above, the PTE Core booking happens 100% online, which means you cannot sign up for registration at any test centers worldwide.

This policy is convenient; you can book the exam anywhere and anytime. Besides, the system is available all day, not restricted to working hours. This leads to a swift registration process, and participants don’t need to wait for so long.

The Bottom Line

This article introduces thorough instructions on the PTE Core booking, including four comprehensive steps, documentation requirements, and other helpful tips.

When booking the PTE Core test, you must prepare enough documents and ensure your Internet connection is stable. Any interruptions could affect the booking, so be careful!
